A bit about me. I’m a photographer. That’s what I do. I see really cool stuff and I take pictures of it. And I would like to think that I’m not half bad at doing it. I’m no Joe McNally or Eugene Smith. I’m me, Piotr Filipek. But I do give those two photographers all the props in the world. They are fantastic shooters, and I’ve learned a lot from both of them. I know more than most, but nowhere near as much as others. And I still have a long way to go before I’m there. Where ever there is, hopefully someplace warm!
It was not warm this day. About a week before Christmas I was down on Steven Ave. (Down town Calgary for those of you that aren’t familiar).
Musician: I never did get his name; I was too busy being wowed by how awesome this guy sounded. He was also one of the kindest and most genuine individuals I have ever met. I hope I can meet him again. The Gypsy: Not long after I met the banjo player I came across the Gypsy, more specifically her caravan. I had never seen anything like it in my life, least of all parked in the middle of Steven Ave. She was there to sing Christmas carols and bring a bit of joy to a rather cold and dreary day. If I recall when I met her, she was getting parking ticket.
